You can take tums or rolaids. But the thing that worked for me best was to drink very cold water very fast. Been there and done that!

Before I found out I was pregnant, I was on Prilosec OTC. My doctor told me it wasn't safe to take, and gave me Zantac 150 to take 2 times a day. He also said I could take Tums. I had heartburn horribly the entire time of being pregnant. Try to stay away from spicy and greasy foods. And sometimes chewing cinnamon gum would help me. Some people swear by a spoonful of ice cream, as well as milk. Congrats on the baby! Don't worry, the heartburn WILL get better!

I had heartburn every day I was pregnant. I lived on Tums. Milk helped too. Congratulations and good luck with the heartburn, it's definately worth it!

I asked the pharmacist and she said any of the antacids are okay as long as they are low in sodium. She said they are not absorbed into your system, so they are fine for pregnant women. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow, so I will be asking him about it aswell. I would do the same if I were you. I take Diovol because it is for heartburn, but it is also an antigas, which I have been suffering with just as much as the heartburn. If you have trouble with gas too, I would recommend it.

I had TERRIBLE heartburn when I was pregnant, (my baby was big) I would even wake up in the middle of the night with vomit in my mouth, and the Dr. recommended Gaviscon. Worked like a charm. A few months after my baby was born I had to have my gallbladder removed because while she was in me, she squeezed it so bad I developed gallstones which was probably why I was having so much heartburn while I was pregnant. Try the Gaviscon, it really helped.

Tums are safe. I feel for you. Try not to eat too much too late in the evening. It helps with my heartburn.

tums-dont eat too close to bedtime. Eat smaller meals, dont have fruit juice thats has a high acitity like OJ near bedtime. I would just buy 2 large bottles, that should hold you throu your pregnancy. Its sucks when its 2 am and you have the worst heart burn of your life, be prepared...also try about 3 tablespoons by itself if the tums dont work for you.

you wouldnt even have to take tums if you could just take small bites of food and chew them thoroughly.

i used to have serious heartburn when i was pregnant but i learned how to work around that.

or it could just mean that you are having a girl
