This makes me sooo mad. I am an overweight person and have always been a bigger person, I can't help that bigger genes run in my family. I never asked God to make me an overweight person. So many people can say (usually the people who can eat anything they want and not gain a single pound. If I even WALK by the cookie stand in the mall, I gain like 5, and I haven't even eaten the damn things!!!!), quit eating so much and go on a diet, it's not that simple!!! I am a very beautiful person, inside and out, just because I actually eat food, enjoy it and not puke it up intentionally, does not make me a less desirable person to be around. People really suck sometimes!!!

Because it is a weakness of human nature to want someone to be mean to. Fat people have long been an easy target.
I think one of the main resistances to fat people is the refusal to make room in public spaces for this growing population. If there is a stadium being finished today, it will still have the standard tight seating to maximize the number of butts they can put in seats. Same for airlines, and buses and subways. I actually measured a coach airline seat. It's 16 inches across on the seat and 13 on the headrest. It's denial. It would cost too much to redesign restaurant booths, theater seating, to accommodate the plumpness, because then you'll get into how fat is too fat even beyond, let's say, double the previous size?

In part, because we're out of what the 'ideal' man or woman that current marketing is pushing at us. What was a healthy attractive person from 50 years ago could be a little overweight by today standards. Also, we're easy target to any number of diets (easy money, if it doesn't work, invent another flavour).

There are many causes of obesity. If they're fat in the face so the eyes look squinty, it's thyroid problems. If it's a big gut with thin arms and legs, it's liver disease. If it's 'thunderthighs' with big ankles, it's often heart problems. No rule is hard and fast of course, but don't assume everyone overeats.

Thank you. One of the biggest misconceptions about all overweight people is that they are that way by choice. My mother eats 5 times more than I do in one day and weighs 116lbs.. I eat maybe two small healthy meals per day and am very active yet have health problems that won't let me lose weight. One being that I have to take steroids often.

Overweight people are just a little big. They are treated differently because we live in a superficial world that only accepts what it wants and what it thinks is normal.
But it is not okay to be overweight. It is bad for health and an epidemic. But overweight people are still people, and deserve respect.

You so crazy
We do leave lepers alone, that's what they're objecting to. They want to be treated a sexual objects and be representatives in health a beauty industries. Nobody is committing hate crimes agianst fat people, they're just not allowing them to believe that being obese is healthy or normal.

Don't use that as an excuse to overeat. It is a bad habit and is very preventable.
