it has strange programs that are still running when I shut down, I checked the names of them on the internet and they are just normal computer terms that are they say regitry .I dont understand how I can get it to just turn off, It happens about twice a day..........

Yeah, one of them is probably ccApp.exe. That is a part of Norton Antivirus. Just hit the END NOW button as you have been. This is not a problem. (just sucky software)

This happens when you have programs that are running that won't shut down...There's programs out there that have command lines to where if a program at shutdown stops responding, "it" shuts it down...Like WINner Tweak....good program for Windows settings changes.

Usually there's something running in the background you may not be aware of. Or maybe you hit the shutdown button too fast -
We get a little impatient sometimes.

If you are using WinXP, and has a licenced copy of it. Then you can download "windows defender" software from microsoft. It will help you keep pc safe from such things. If not try using Zonealarm Firewall software. It's Free to download.

probably your operating system not releasing memory or the program hung and never ended in the task list.
I get that alot if ...I click a link and it's an adobe pdf file and I just close the window.

that use to happen to me when i had a virus happening on my computer..maybe u need to clean up ur hardrive or somethin because when computers r fresh and new they dont do that and when u download and download stuff thats when i starts to happen... im not sure im just guessing i hope it might help.. it did for me
