Alien-based religions are hard to take seriously. But I think what you are referring to are stories about a conversation that L Ron Hubbard had with some other science fiction writers in which they discussed how they would create their own religion. I don't think a bet was involved in the version I heard, just that they discussed doing it. I don't know if that's a true conversation or just hearsay, but the scientologist religion is based on alien mythology. Also when you first talk to them about their religion they deny that it is one. They say it's just an alternative to psychology. I think the only time they say it's a religion is when someone criticizes them or tries to make them pay taxes.

Tom Cruise is the Anti-christ... lol Scientologists believe that Christ, Buddha, and other religious icons are the reason there is evil on this earth. They actually believe mankind was created from a giant blast of a volcano.. How stupid can ppl be? So in answer to your question, scientology is the biggest load of sh*t I have ever heard.!!

My husband worked for 2 brothers that were in to that. Every month they {the brothers} went on vacations to talk about Scientology. One weekend one of the brothers went away with his wife and kids on one of these "vacations" and when they came back the wife was crazy. She never spoke to anyone but her husband again. She cried all the time and sleep almost all the time. Her husband stopped going on those types of vacations as much and started going on different ones. He once told my husband that when he closed his eyes he played tag with the stars in the sky and that's what he would do instead of going away. So to answer your question, Yes they are crazy and they scared me.

Sorry. I live in Clearwater, Florida. It's the international HQ for Scientology. Anyone in this town who speaks ill of them ends up disappearing under mysterious circumstances. Not that I should be worried, but I really don't know abo

Ron Hubbard wrote a book that I have heard they love to recommend. Another person who comes to mind is the founder of E.S.T. From what I've heard about it thus far, I am not interested in it...it is too radical.

I am not a Scientologist but if you read L Ron Hubbard's books (the founder) he makes a lot of sense.
