I hold hands with my boyfriends/or my dates everytime I go out. But I never do it in dodgy places. We hold hands when we are in a safe area. Such as backbay or South End area in Boston, Greenwich or Chelsea in NYC, Castro in San Fran, and Capitol Hill in Seattle.
I do it in School (UW). For a reason that a straight couple can do it, why not gay people.

some just don't like pda. other situations consider the fact that homosexuality isn't accepted as much as bigger cities. never been to san francisco though. i have seen guys holding hands in gay districts of other cities though. culture also has an effect. in singapore, an island in asia, guys are known to hold hands with their friends, not just their bf's.

Being homosexual isn't disrespectful mate...they have chanced on one yet another and love one yet another merely like your parents did...its merely destiny that those 2 men fell mutually and stay fortunately mutually. in case you have been preserving your girlfriends hand strolling down the line and a homosexual individual advised you the way you sense approximately 2 gays you will sense dissatisfied, you will sense as in case you do no longer belong at the place you're... in reality i'm proud for those 2 men as they have risen above the persons interior your unhappy little homophobic community; some generally splendid human beings contained in the worldwide are homosexual...would you pass as much as Elton John and his better half and tell them too provide up preserving palms??? No did no longer think of so...YOU AND YOUR associates would desire to appreciate that THERE ARE different human beings in this worldwide and that they are unlikely to renounce BEING THEMSELVES by using fact of A IGNORANT SOCIETY!!!!! desire this enables you x

If I'm feeling safe with a boyfriend, I will. If I'm not, it's usually because I'm feeling paranoid (as in: don't want to get beat up). I'm kind of isolated, so I definitely can't speak to the Castro district, but...that's my deal.

Even though I've never seen other guys hold hands, I do it all the time with whichever guy i'm with. You get lots of strange looks around here, but it's ok, I like to show my affection in public. I've also made out hardcore in mall parking lots and parks in town. (I'm hoping it'll catch on and more people will follow, things need to change around here regarding how gay couples are looked upon)

Although I am a straight female, I have many homosexual friends. I have gay male friends who have partners and they are not afraid to show affection in public....holding hands, kissing, hugging and cuddling. I live in Manhattan.

That's odd... when I go to Provincetown (in Massachusetts, a very LGBT-friendly town) I see men holding hands frequently. I don't know why you don't see it in Castro.
