Working is just further development of your social skills. It sounds like you are just a shy person. The best thing to do is find out how your boss likes to communicate and act accordingly. Keep to yourself. The workplace is a great way to meet new people but not everyone has your best interests at heart. Do what you have been hired to do and the boss will seem less like a shadow hanging over your head. Tough people have their own agenda but again, it all goes back to doing what you are assigned to do. When you mess up or get off track, the whole department could be screwed so mind your own business and CYA.

dealing with fear is apart of life, find a safe zone, by this i mean get comfortable, learn to ignore all that is not necessary, do he job which you applyed for and block out the rest, if you have billed to pay and things to take care of that requires that youhave a job, then work your abilities to learn to deal with the crazy ways of the world, i say this because i have worked alot of jobs and left a good many because i could not deal with the chaos, now i wished i could have just turned a deaf ear to that, because some jobs pay better then others and when you are use to a certain income, doing something that doesn,t pay the same can put you in a bind, at home yo have things that you can or can,t do or should or shouldn,t do, so just remember in life we will always come up against things that get on our nerves, or feel we can,t take this anymore, what you have to decide is what are you gaining from this job, and what you will loose, the time it take to replace your income isn,t easy, dealing wit headaches isn,t ease, finding a solution isn,t easy, put your self in the other person,s shoes and see if they feel the same way you do, subject ways of making the work place more pleasant, get to know someone with a positive attitude, and if you need the job, maintain your control and write out what you feel , find a positive way to work with the ones you work with, and don,t let what,s in you eat you up. find a outlet, and smile cause you can do it..

Why fear? Or are we talking about low self-esteem? There is nothing to fear about work, especially if the job is something that appeals to you.

That said, I have found that the better prepared you are, the more confident you will be about your duties. There is always some butterflies in the stomach...but that is part of the growing process. Just be yourself, be pleasant, be a good team player, follow the rules (as long as these are moral and ethical) and you will see that your initial apprehension will go away in no time flat.

Best wishes.

Fear in the workplace stinks, but not as bad as the person that has stopped believing that they have choices. Be the best person you can be, be courageous, do your best work, play fair and expect others to do the same. They say a bad apple can spoil the bunch, but what few realize is that if you give back a little bit of positive rather than contributing to the poison, you make the journey more enjoyable for yourself and others.

What do you fear of? Fear of people?
Deal if you must and deal with confidence, articulation and tactfulness, all theses have different meanings.
Better fear that if you don't deal with them, you might fear losing your job..right?
