It means he wasn't ready to risk another broken heart because he'd been hurt before, but now he's healed and is ready to try a serious relationship again... Well, if it was a decent amount of time. If it was like 10 minutes later, then that means he couldn't get another gal interested in sleeping with him and is gonna try his luck with you.

He's playing games, or he just wants you for sex, or he doesn't know what he wants, or he's dating other people, or all of the above in different combinations; no matter how you look at it, this spells trouble for you if you DO want to be emotionally involved. I would find a different guy, unless you just want to have fun without committment.

it means he didn't want to date you at first, and now he has changed his mind for some reason or another... if I were you, I would not get with this guy, he obviously doesn't know what he wants and will probably end up jerking you around and hurting you multiple times... find someone who is sure, you deserve that
