This means that there is a great deal of knowledge requirred to be learnt in a short period of time.
This is hence likened to climbing a steep mountain.
Draw a graph of amount to be learnt versus time allowed and this will be a curve with a steep slope.
Have a good day

Since time is usually plotted on the x-axis, a STEEP learning curve means you need to learn something quickly (little time to learn a lot). Otherwise, it would have a shallow learning curve (plenty of time to learn not much).

It is a cliché today to refer to a “steep learning curve” to indicate that something is difficult to learn.

Usually if something bad happens to someone they get a real kick in the pants and learn alot. Most times people say this when referring to someone that thinks they know everything and will not be told otherwise.

Some think it means difficult to learn.
It really means that the material needs to be learned very quickly.
