I like Elle's method best 'cause you wind up with an actual closed loop- rather than a strip whose ends you would have to tape together to fit the card "around" your body.

I couldn't get there via her description, though :(

The bit about "...only cutting all the way through and keep doing that alternating directions" threw me until I actually tried it.

I think that what she was trying to say was that you fold the card in half- bringing the long sides together and creasing it in the middle.

Starting from the creased edge, make a cut parallel to to the short edge and a half centimeter inboard. Stop the cut a half centimeter short of the folded-together edges.

Flip the folded card over and make a second cut parallel to the first and another half centimeter inboard. As before, stop the cut a half centimeter short of the edge of the card (the creased edge in this case).

Continue making alternating cuts "up" from the crease and "down" from the folded-together edges. The final "down" cut, however, does NOT stop short of the edge. Continue it all the way to the crease and discard the cut-off piece. (Obviously- if you can arrange things so the last "up" cut is about a half centimeter from the edge- you can skip the last "down" cut, with its attendant waste, altogether.)

Unfold the card. Re-fold the first part of the crease (between the edge of the card and the first cut) in the opposite direction. Do the same thing to the last part of the crease (between the last cut and the opposite edge of the card).

Finally, cut all along the original crease EXCEPT for the first and last segments which you just folded out of the way.

Somewhere between Elle's vague directions and my perhaps over-precise specification there lies a Goldilocks "just right" happy medium.

Any takers?

First fold it in half, short ways, then if it's lined cut along the first line, not going all the way through just about 1/2 a cm away from the edge. Then flip it over and, do the same to the other side... only cutting all the way through and keep doing that alternating directions, until you've reached the end, then pull the strands apart and pull over yourself!

Start cutting it along the outside. stay about 1/4 inch from the outside and as you cut down the edge and get close to the next edge, curve your cut and keep spiraling around till you get to the center. You will now have a "band" of paper that you can easily wrap around your body. if you make the strip even smaller than 1/4 inch you can possible even get the stip to be TALLER than you.

a million. Fold the cardboard in 0.5 alongside its length. 2. decrease the cardboard widthwise, commencing on the folded section, to 3 a million/2 inch from the different section. 3. substitute from the folded section to the open section each 0.5 inch. 4. once you unfold the cardboard you ought to have a sequence of ladderlike cuts. 5. decrease for the time of the middle of the cardboard, lengthwise, from the interior the 1st decrease, to the ourside of teh final decrease. this ought to create an accordion-like loop which you would be able to particularly positioned around your physique. regrettably, without the skill to attraction to it or instruct you, this is the appropriate i will do.

cut it in a zigzag pattern. start cutting from one direction and stop before you get to the end, then cut it from the opposite direction and stop before you get to the end, and then keep going. it will make a long piece of paper that you can wrap around your body.

cut in opposing lines, think like a zig zag in the middle of the card. it will fold open to be able for you to step through/into it if you cut the zig zags long enough.
