All Nature seems at work. Slugs leave their lair--
The bees are stirring--birds are on the wing--
And Winter slumbering in the open air,
Wears on his smiling face a dream of Spring!
And I the while, the sole unbusy thing,
Nor honey make, nor pair, nor build, nor sing.

Yet well I ken the banks where amaranths blow,
Have traced the fount whence streams of nectar flow.
Bloom, O ye amaranths! bloom for whom ye may,
For me ye bloom not! Glide, rich streams, away!
With lips unbrightened, wreathless brow, I stroll:
And would you learn the spells that drowse my soul?
Work without Hope draws nectar in a sieve,
And Hope without an object cannot live.

Well if this poem is for a girl you might want to ask or have someone ask her what she loves the most. Write a poem about what she loves the most. Get some ideas from other poems on the computer or from books. You should be mysterious and when you give it to her don't put your name. Or dedicate it to her and send it as a request in the newspaper. (trust me I've done this)

First of all poetry comes from the heart. You must write about something your passionate about. Listen to the way your heart feels when you think about it and then use words to describe it. then lastly try and make it all rhyme.
