I had kidney stones they said came from excess calcium, research the calcium found in those diet supplement drinks!

First of all, I am sorry about your father. Second, calcium has many body roles that are crucial in the muscular, cardiovascular, bone and neuromuscular functions. High levels of calcium (hypercalcemia) usually mean that there is a parathyroid-thyroid imbalance or a malignancy present. Check out the source link to learn more about it.

They administer a normal saline drip at a high rate and give a drug to reduce the calcium in his blood over several hours. It will fix him right up. Since they caught it, he is going to be ok.
They will be searching for a reason for his calcium to be high. Does your dad smoke or has he ever had cancer?
It could be his parathyroid glands messing up.
Prayers for your dad.

well, theoretically yes, though too much of anything can kill you. this is probably not the case with your dad though. rapid increases in any elemental compound can be signs of other things. one such thing is a digestive malfunction. generally these are not deadly though. to be sure ask the doctor at the hospital. he will give you the best answer based on the actual incident.
