I am dealing with a bullying mentality that is not just supported in the home but also acted upon by the parents to the extent of intimidating other peoples children themselves. Approaching them both on and off school grounds. I have liased with the school and the police to determine weather im in the wrong and my children are doing the bullying and it is not the case...so with the avenue of the "hysterical over protective mother" explored i am left feeling totally victimized and unsupported by an education system and a legal system that appear to be supporting the behaviour of bullies!

File a police report EACH AND EVERY time that it happens. Take the reports, each time, to the school. Keep copies for yourself. If nothing is done after say, 10 reports, go to a lawyer. You are likely to have wonderful grounds for a lawsuit this way. The school doesn't want to pay you that much money. It'll be cheaper for them to fix the problem. I've done it. It works VERY well.

My daughter used to take matters into her own hands and beat up kids that bullied other kids in the schoolyard or classroom. It took me from kindergarten to sixth grade to break her out of the habit., because she was a solitary avenging angel and would go into action at the slightest provocation. Since she was soft-spoken, tiny and pretty, the teachers never realized she was doing this, and the bullies were usually too embarrassed to admit that she had cleaned their clocks.

I think I never really did break her of her habit of coming to the defense of smaller or less aggressive kids; it was moving to a different school system where the bullying mentality was not tolerated that changed her behavior.

So I'm going to recommend that you research a different school district, sell your house, and move to somewhere where the values of the authorities reflect your own.

Much as I hate to say it, if you get no help from the school or police then I would sue. Sue the school district, or at least have the lawyer send them a letter of intent to do so. That will get their attention.

Same with the parents of the bully -- if he touches your kid, sue him for the emergency room visit (even if it is just a scrape) plus ten times that in punitive damages. Once you take their trailer home away they might have to reconsider being such trailer trash.
