If you watch the half-hour national news on one of the big 3 networks, CBS, ABC,and NBC. Have you noticed almost all the commercials in between breaks are advertisements for perscription drugs? Why? Advertising at this time of the day is so expensive, the money these companies put into ads is criminal, what is even the purpose of advertising drugs that are only allowed and prescribed by doctors? Should ads for these drugs be made illegal? And do these networks that take the drug companies money for 100% profit have any responsiblity other than their profits? I thinks it so sad this corruption and greed happens in front of millions americans every day and nothing is said or done, Im ashamed of the way this country treats its people, and its time something is done.

Danzarth-Your answer is typical of the true capitalist. So your belief is you have to make a million no matter who dies. Im glad you said this, this is an example of whats wrong with this system. Limited capitalism needs to be active in the following industries. Heathcare, oil, insurance, schooling, daycare, and all emergency services. If we continue to put profit before people in these areas, prepare for the fallout ahead. Im 30, I drive semi, and Im a powerseller on Ebay, I know more about economics than the average person, and you seem to be one of them.

I completely agree with you.

Did you know that I had a friend in China who was trying to mail a friend of mine in the US some Red Ginseng, and was told at the post office that Red Ginseng is a "medicine"--and medicines cannot be mailed to the United States--any other country, fine, but not the US? The drug companies seem to have all of our options sealed here. They are criminal B@stards, and I encourage everyone to start looking into alternative medicine for minor ailments!

Prescription drugs are expensive because drug companies are (wait for it) businesses, first and foremost. They are in the business of providing people with a good (drugs) for a price. Since they spend millions of dollars in developing these drugs, it is only fair that they charge what they think the drugs are worth. If you don't like it, don't buy the drugs. Don't they teach basic economics in school anymore?

Your real problem with this scenario is that you seem to think that people are entitled to get the drugs they need for little or no cost. That's where you're wrong. Prescription drugs are just like any other product on the market; if you can't afford to buy it, you don't deserve to have it. Is it harsh? Sure. But this is the way our country works.
