I'm sorry i can't actually help you with this question since i was born much after the 70s and am not a fan of that music nor do I know the gas prices, but they must have been hella cheap considering how expensive gas is these days. But i just want to ask why this fits under the title of fashion and accessories?? lol

The Carpenters were really popular in the 70's (they're singers on case you didn't know). I was only alive about 4 months in the 70's so I can't help you much there....

the music from the 70's is the best...
(and i dont mean disco.)
that is probably the golden era of rock. all the big guys of rock had monster albums in the 70's
bowie, clapton, lepp, doors, elton john, steely dan, beatles....on and on....

i liked the fact that their music was actually GOOD. i would love to have been born in the 70's.

gas was like 50 cents a gallon but it was in short supply.
you could only get gas every other day.
I liked led zepplin, Credance Clearwater Revival myself.
