it sort of means that people who invest GOBS of money in the millions and hundreds of millions like to have their money in things that will make more millions of dollars.
If one thing, (in this case oil) seems like it will not continue to pay huge profits back to the investors, they will begin to look for other things that seem better than what they have.
People tend to drive less when the weather is cold, no vacations, fewer cruises because it is not as fun with the windows up so they use less gasoline. In the fall, gasoline begins to fill up the huge tanks where gasoline is stored and that helps bring down the price people are able to charge for it. That means that people who have the thick black crude oil that gets processed into gasoline and diesel, and heating oil for the house can't get away with charging really high prices for it.
That is sort of what is happening according to the story.
That's the best I can do cuz it's all I know about it.

It means that some dude who works for a big oil company has to lower the price to encourage people to quickly buy more of it. In the short term, the company will make more money and that "some dude" won't get fired.
All the other stuff is made-up crap.
But you can't fool an 11 year old.

Sorry. There is no way to explain the concept of futures trading in terms that an 11 yr old can understand. Now, if you are self-taught in reading and social studies, maybe..... But the average adult doesn't understand either!

Basically all you need to know is that gas prices are coming down because most people dont need their air conditioner and havent turned on their heaters just yet.
