The answer lies in part to just how low those in charge of the nation and world think it needs to go so as it can not be used as a Anti-Republican political backlash during the upcoming mid term elections in November.

Those that really pull the strings in our economy and politics have such contempt and general low regard for the masses that they (correctly) figure that all they have to do is see to it that the market price drops enough through market manipulation planned well in advance and everyone will magically forget the royal financial screwing oil companies and their Republican allies heaped on us just a few months back as well as all the billions raked in as a result while the majority leaders stood quietly by and smirked at the rest of us.

Don't say I told you so when you note the price start to creep up after the November elections are over regardless of the outcome...

Never below $2.00 again... Those days are gone unless something else can replace gasoline at an even lower price.

For example, I heard most cars can be converted into bio-diesel. Which means it can run on used cooking oil. I think that would help lower the price further if more people did that.

I think it will dip around 2.00 and stay that way until after the elections... then it will rise again. That way it will make it look as if the politicians did something this term...which they didn't. Big Oil has made record profits...to hell with everyone else's ability to pay.
