It's not really the religion, just the people of that religion you need to look out for. I know if I lived in the middle east I would definitely be stoned to death, so, thank God I'm an American with a freedom of religion. I'm a baptist and in Christianity we are suppose to turn away from sin because it's a separation of God, but how do heterosexuals know we weren't born this way even according to certain religions? I just feel like as long as the congregation is friendly I can participate. I constantly pray about having a closeness with God and to me that is what truly matters. Hey, He's God, He knows the hearts of all men and women. I don't know if this helps you, but I still think people can be close-minded when it comes to their religion. This is just a form of judgment though. Be strong in your search and know what you can believe, not just religions that are easy to jump in and out of. Good day and God bless.

If we are to believe "Little Big Man' with Dustin Hoffman, the Indian culture, which was highly "religious", revered a homosexual "brave". Of course, that culture is long since dead, no small thanks to the Church. And of course the ancient Greeks and Romans didn't have any issues whom anybody boinked. Maybe some non-homophobic belief systems exist somewhere in the rain forests of South America or on the island of Java. Anywhere where people haven't chiseled their belief systems in stone. That would be places few and far between in this shrinking world.

There are some factions of Judaism that are very gay-friendly. For example, in New York there is the Beit Simchat Torah, which is LGBT friendly. Some hardcore orthodox sects still have issues - but then again they have issues about everything. A lot of guys from satmar neighborhoots around NY who have faced some community pressure because of their orientation find a much more accepting environment in Israel.
By the way, the name of the synogogue is quite the pun - "simchat torah" is a jewish holiday that means "rejoycing in the torah" simcha meaning happiness... and another word for happy is?

I think the best answer to your question is that there are sects of all major religions out there that are GLBT friendly. This includes Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Paganism, and even Satanism. The question you need to ask is what religion fits you and then research to find gay friendly sects of that religion.

United Church of Religious Science - Science of Mind and Spirit.
Its NOT scientology!
It basicly boils down to what its called, the science, or study of all different kinds religions at a church.
They study all kinds of prophits, teachers, leaders; people like Jesus, Ghandi, Dr Martin Luther King, Buddists, etc. and study what they all had in common, a God or Gods, they prayed to and believed in and why and what not.
To me, its a really good idea for a church. Its really a great organization of people who accept all types of people-its got a very 'live and let live' type of vibe.j
check one of the church's out! you'll probally like it!

If you are looking for Christian gay friendly churches look up Metropolitan Community Church in your local directory.
As for gay friendly religions, there is no mention of gay in the Tao, no judgement made on the issue. There are probably others as well.. Wiccan comes to mind..
Paganism is also non-judgemental

There are many Christian chuches that affirm the life and membership of gay and lesbian members. Check out a list at the Human Rights Campaign. Also check out the online worship pages at Cathedral of Hope.

Most Christian denominations have churches that are or can be friendly to homosexuals. I went to seminary with one. There are some in my church--sitting right next to former-drunks who don't drink anymore and former druggies who don't do drugs anymore and former prostitutes that are married and good mothers, the list goes on. If you are going to prance in as little mister priss, you would catch flak at the corner grocery store. Be civil with them and they will happily be civil with you.
