Why is it that every time Halloween falls on a Sunday the state changes it to a different day?
I’m a Christian. My kids know the truth of this holiday, but I still allow them to go out to get candy and dress up for the fun, but I still don’t like that just because it falls on a Sunday that it get changed to my opinion to suit the churches.

Here, in Mississippi, the state doesn't change it but the individual towns do. They change it if it's on a Sunday, and one year they even changed it when it was on a MONDAY just because of Monday night football! At least I think that's why, because they've never changed it before if it was on any other week night. I personally don't believe in observing halloween, but I have a problem with them changing it.
1.....If it's because people might think it's wrong to have halloween on the so-called "Lord's Day" then that shows they don't think it's appropriate, and they should do it ANY day.
2.....If it's because of a conflict with church, make the decision between going to church to praise God, or going out to keep pagan rituals alive. (Or some churches might just cancel church that night....I've seen some churches actually cancel services for the freaking Super Bowl!!!! Seems ridiculous to me that people would let a football game come between them and worshipping their Lord.)
3.....If their changing it for school reasons, lets just make November 1st an out-of-school holiday! Seems easier than confusing people by changing the trick-or-treating date every year. Just make it so that November 1st is always a holiday and then people won't have to wonder about dates every year.

My family will be going to a church praise service that night and afterwards we'll come home and watch a movie together, complete with enough popcorn to make us barf. : )

If you live in the Bible belt like I do then they do that kind of thing. It doesn't have anything to do with a "school night" thing. They have had trick or treat night here on every night of the week except Sunday.

It's not fair, you are right. Complaints to the city council will fall on deaf ears, when they have thousands of church goers and only hundreds of offended people, the majority wins. It sucks.

Yes since sunday is the day Jesus rose from the dead and the terrible religionous have set this day aside to worship Jesus.
Why can't we have a party to worship SAtan?
Is that fair? After all this is his day and if it interfers with our worship of Jesus well which one are we going to chose.
Naturally since we are determined to worship Satan I think they should be allowed to do it on the day set aside to worship jesus.
Shame on you! You know this is wicked and pagan you explained that to your children. But we are going to do it anyway.
So when they grow up and want to have an orgy with this new boy friend. They can say, Yes mother I know it is wrong but I want to do it anyway, because it is fun and I like to do that.
Your training them well. Just be sure that is the message you want to send.
