I've never dont it befrore so I'm not sure what to ask at the nail salon. I'd like them to be about a half inch long. Any advice??

my hat's off to you if this is what makes you happy i say full speed ahead. i think 1/2 in french manicure is very sexy and flattering to the hands kudos babe be well

They are great. All salons know what a French Manicure is, it's the polish. The tips are done in white. Looks great with everything. Have fun, you will love it! Do not get acrylics unless you plan on going in every two weeks and paying to have them filled. Bad path to start on and acrylic will just ruin your natural nails and the chemicals used are pretty awful. Many people have allergies to them. You can get French nails done on your own nails. Again it's the polishing job.

You might try asking your friends where they go for manicures.
When you go in, tell them you want a full set, French manicure (assuming you want acrylic tips). If this is something you want to keep up, you'll need to go back every 2 weeks or so, depending on how fast your nails grow, for a fill.
A word of advice, don't go to the cheapest place advertising like $15 Full Sets. You'll probably get what you pay for.

Don't be nervous about it. Getting your nails done makes you feel prettier, somehow it does. lol
When they are doing your nails they'll keep cutting or filing the nails they are going to do on you until you like what length they have there. Its real easy but it takes a little while but don't worry.

be careful as to who you chose, i got mine done and when i got them off, my nails were in horrible shape. they were brittle and they had rigids in them. took a while to get them back to normal. although i would have to say i would do it again. i love the way they look. i dont have any nails, im a nail bitter, so it makes me feel like a woman haha. the technition will help you along with the manicure :) they take a lot to keep up with them, but in the end you will have beautiful nails.

A french manicure is pretty basic, I am sure they will know what you mean. Do you realize how long a half inch is?

Just say you want a regular acrylic manicure, and they'll ask you when they're putting them on what is a good length for you, and cut it till it's the right length. Dont' worry!

aww, thats great that you want a french manicure! when you go to the salon, just ask for an acrillic french manicure, and theyll ask you how long you want them to be

They will ask how long you want them to be. Tell them to be careful with your cuticles....they sometimes go too fast and end up grinding them too far. Otherwise thats about it.....They do everything. And if you dont like something then SPEAK UP! lol I always do so its ok to say something.
