Its very strange. One of my nipple buds is swollen, tender, and sore. It sticks out above the rest of my nipple and it is enlarged. If anything rubs against it, it hurts. I put a bandaid over it to protect it. Its kind of like getting a sore on you taste buds on your tongue. Thats the best analogy. I have experienced this once before, and it went away. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Should I go to the doctor? What should I do to make it less painful? What can I do to prevent this?

I do wear soft bras. I just got back from my honeymoon, so it could be a result of alot of mouth to nipple action. However, I think it was getting tender before that. Do you think it could be the result of alot of nipple action???
When I referred to the taste bud...I was referreing to your taste bud on the tongue being enlarged and tender, not red and white.

That happened to me around the end of may right before I found out I was pregnant. I didn't have problems with both nipples it was just my right nipple that was swollen and tender to the touch. So it might be a possibility that you could be pregnant or that you just might be going through some hormonal changes. If this continues I suggest you talk to your doctor about, but first I think you should get and hpt.

might be infection like spots can be treated with antiseptic ointment ... if its very painful then see doctor

if you don't wear a bra, then its the metrial of your clothing rubbing .. wear softer blouse's or shirts

you have to tell your boyfriend to stop brestfeeding at you so hard, in that way ,you get less,swollen free nipple
