OK, I'm going to sound like that crazy lady that baths in her trailer park backyard for a minute here. When you swish a fly away from you do you think it's scared or irritated, and why is it that as soon as you get the fly swatter out the little bastards take off and hide? Sorry I've got this under science and mathematics, but really what was my option "pets"?

Well, I think that the flies are irritaded because (okay, this might sound crazy), well your getting the fly swaghter out and trying to smack that thing. Wouldn't you get irrataded? ( oh, and just to tell you, I'm a 11 yaer old girl.)

Insects really don't think or feel emotions.

In comparison to vertebrates, an insect's nervous system is far more de-centralized. Most overt behavior (e.g. feeding, locomotion, mating, etc.) is integrated and controlled by segmental ganglia instead of the brain. In some cases, the brain may stimulate or inhibit activity in segmental ganglia but these signals are not essential for survival. Indeed, a headless insect may survive for days or weeks (until it dies of starvation or dehydration) as long as the neck is sealed to prevent loss of blood!

Flies operate on instinct. There has never been an indication in science that insects feel emotion. They don't have the capacity to even understand individuality. If you are familiar with Star Trek, flies can be compared to the Borg....a collective understanding.

FLIES ARE YOUR WORST ENEMY!! my dad actually hates them and kills them by trapping them in the blinds. I think they actually get scared and irritated. They just want to bother you and get some of your food... if you are seriously bothered by flies there is this stuff you can get from your pest control company and it is called clean air purge. that **** kills em good we use a lot of it....
