I can remember in 1971, I was 18 years old and I drove to the gas station to fill my tank... I was horrified when I realized gas went up from 32 cents a gallon to 36 cents a gallon... I remember going home and telling my mother and we were so ticked....

I was just a kid.(born in 1969), but I do remember things at a slower pace. Not as rushed then. The music is what I remember the most. Now when I hear a 70's song, it really takes me back. I also love alot of the movies from back then. I don't remember how much gas was, but I do remember my mom would pull up to a full service station and get $2.00 worth of regular, and drive for a long time with just that much gas in the car.

I liked being younger than I am today. Seriously, I loved Fleetwood Mac, buying my first house, and my only new car. Gas in the early '70s was high (we thought), due to "gas wars." I don't remember the exact price, but it was somewhere around $1.25 per gallon for regular.
