My dryer has the most awful smell. The clothes don't smell if I get them out right when dryer stops. I had this problem when I was pregnant and we had a plumber come and flush the lines. He said it is from lint getting wet. I clean the lint screen every time I use the dryer. It smelled okay for a while after the plumber, now it stinks again. I have tried air fresher, letting the dryer stay open to air dry, using a blower to clear the lines and nothing works. Has anyone else ever had this problem, if so how did you solve it?

Your vent is blocked or kinked somewhere and you have water laying in the vent along with lint. Your vent needs to be cleaned out or replaced. I would be willing to bet that it takes at least an hour to dry a normal load of clothes. A normal load should only take 30 min. to be completely dry.

i had the same problem. I found that the front of the dryer came off and there was lint packed around the filter area.

If it is a burnt smell and it is a gas dryer, lint is burning in the gas flame. Remove the front panel - in my case the flexible pipe that leads to the outside had dislodged at the end that attaches inside by the filter. I reattached it duct taped it and no more smell.

You had a plumber flush the lines on your DRYER?
Call him back and have him check the muffler bearings. That might help.
