That might lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. It also happens when you type for too long or basically do other activities that use your hand muscles for a period of long time.

That happens to me when i hold my brush a certain way. Experiment with different grips, and with not holding the brush too tightly. My hand and arm feel better if I mostly hold the brush not by the handle, but lower down on the "shoulders" of the brush. Also, keep your brush loaded up well so you don't have to use too much pressure.
Using a good-quality brush can help, as well -- because it holds more paint.

I have had similar problems. Could be either carpel tunnel syndrome or my most recent affliction was a finkelstein tendon problem. The finkelstein issue resulted in my thumb going numb too. Doctor chuckled and told me to wrap my fingers around my thumb, similar to a modified fist and then extend my hand downward. I sharp pain shot though my forearm like I was hit with 110 volts. He told me what was going on and apply the RICE method. R, rest ; I, ice; C, confined motion; E, sorry I forgot. But I bet you can find it on line. If that is what is going on.
Mine healed up in no time. And I was not real diligent with the therapy.
Good luck

For the same reason grooms fall over at weddings. You're cutting off or restricting blood flow to your hand.

your holding the brush too tight OR you're trying to paint with too little paint on the brush OR you're using too small a brush.

I think ur blood circulation is not running properly. Give rest to ur hand from time to time instead of drawing for a very long period.

That sounds like an early sign of carpal tunnel. Talk to your doctor.
