Call your Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) at your hospital or your local La Leche League Leader for one on one support in your area.

Will your baby latch on and nurse? Nurse or pump about every 2 hours around the clock. Supply and demand is the most important thing. Stimulating your breasts is what is going to tell them to make milk.

Talk to your IBCLC or LLL Leader about possibly getting a Supplemental Nursing System (SNS) so that you can supplement at the breast. Then baby is stimulating you to produce but you know baby is getting milk as well.

There are herbs that can be used to boost supply. Fenugreek is the most commonly used one. The normal dosage is 3-4 capsules 3x per day. There are some people who should not take fenugreek, so be sure to read the link below before using it. Keep in mind that herbs can help, but nothing will work if your breasts aren't being stimulated enough by nursing or pumping! Frequently emptying the breasts is what is going to bring in a supply.

I had a similar problem, except it happened after 6 weeks, I went to someone who specialized in breastfeeding techniques and such, she recommended, ethier pumping or trying to feed the baby every hour and a half to get the working right again.

Pump your milk and attempt to nurse the baby every hour to two hours. IF it doesn't help call your doctor and there are meds that can help get it going again.

Legend has it that fettuccine alfredo was created to induce lactation. Consult your doctor and see if what is recommended or if this is contraindicated. .
