The formula for volume of a sphere is:

V= 4/3 pi R^3

or 4/3 times pi times the radius cubed

the radius would be half of the diameter.

Divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius. Then the volume=4/3 times pi times the radius cubed, and the area = 4 times pi times the radius squared.

A=4(pi)(r^2) You just divide the diameter by two and you get the radius, and Pi=3.1416

V=(4/3)(Pi)(r^3) The same here.

If by area you mean total surface area, then

S = Pi * d^2
V = (Pi/6) * d^3
