Interesting thought. I guess we'd grow up never having thought of anyone of another race as being lower than us in society...

Racism would exist no matter where people lived. It is just the nature of people. If it wasn't the color of someone's skin, then it would be their religion that they would have a problem with. If it wasn't the color of their skin or their religion then it would be the language that they spoke. Maybe it would be just because of their culture..... or maybe where they lived......you know what they say....the grass is always greener.......
Point being, that people band together because of some common denominator: race, creed, religion, language, politics, interests, etc, etc. Kind of like the cliques in school: jocks, intellectuals, heads, goths, loners, etc. People always get pigeon-holed and labeled. Perhaps you do it at school or at work. You did it on this post with the question you asked.
I think it is a built in thing, programmed into us from the very earliest humans. It even exists in the narrative that the Bible gives us. All through history.
If all the minorities left except the whites: Then we would have the Indians to pick on......again. But if everyone went back to their "homelands" then Caucasians would go back to Europe and then the American Indians would have to cross back over than land brige and return to Asia from whence they came. North America would be empty except trees and animals...and all would be peaceful......

If minorities when back to their respective homelands, the WHITES would be GONE too, this land belongs to the American Indians. I think racism exists because of a natural instinct for human beings to be competative and threatened by anything that we dont understand. Then we use that when we have an upper hand to break and defame that thing that we are threatened by. It is funny, we do the same thing to wildlife, nature, and in the end - ourselves. Our quest for perfection has people going to extremes to look a certain way and act a certain way - who the HELL decided that a Certain Person or way is THE BEST, or Race, that is what I would love to know.
I dont see an end to Racism, there are too many brainwashed public officals out there - I would love to see a powerful women as president, make that a black, white, asian, etc - and then we can talk about a step forward.

A huge portion of what's identified as, and who refer to themselves as, "white Americans" are descended from immigrants who at one time were minorities and who enjoyed the dirty end of the stick till a new nationality showed up asking for work with a new accent. Now, most of the people given to prejudice need one group or another to denigrate and discriminate against, so even if the Blacks and the Jews the Asians, and the Mexicans all left, somebody is going to be singled out to be hated and cussed and denounced. In short, racism would remain a thriving avocation.
As to what America would be like if all the minorities left at one time, without going into a lot of detail, it would screw up the economy big time. Just think, Blacks represent 14 to 15% of the population, Hispanics are right behind that, and Orientals right behind them. It doesn't take genius to figure out what happens to the work force if you yank probably 30% of the population away all at once.

You fail to realize that all "white Americans" came from somewhere else, be it Ireland, England, France, Spain etc.... So your question does not make sense. The only "real" Americans are the North American Indian 'cause they were there first.
Racism is a result of lack of education, weakness, cowardice and ignorance of other cultures or classes and has very little to do with the colour of ones skin. Therefore racism would not go away unfortunately it will always be here and it's unrealistic to think it will ever disappear.

Those early Americans braved those ships knowing half would not survive. Then among the slaves and other immigrants conditions were hardly any better.
That is why we are the inventors, the creative thinkers, the innovators. From Airplanes, to Automobiles. Computers the internet. the sewing machine the cotton gin. Electricity and phones and wire less cell phones
None of that stuff came from the middle east or Europe.
We the USA invented everything. Because we have variety.
open mindedness and freedom of religion. So our leaders didn't have to spend all their time making sure everyone followed the religous rules of the few men in charge who said God spoke to them. Do you know what has held society back more than any other thing? Religion. Not it by its self but that the people who believed that way wanted everyone to believe like they did.
Wars were fought, women were burned at the stake, men were tortured until they converted to their brand of religion.
Races doesn't hurt us, religion doesn't hurt us. It is control freaks who say believe like I do or else.
that is what hurts society.

africa is one of the most racist countries in the world. why do you think there are so many wars and poverty there. they all hate people from other tribes and backgrounds, and if you know anything about africa, you know there are many different variations of the black race, not like african americans that have been mixed all into one, look at south america, ask a mexican if he is honduran or puruvian or one of the other countries, and see how offended he gets. beleive me, the only people that think america has a race problem, are 1) people who have never lived out of america, and 2) people who have something to gain from it by painting you out to constantly be a victim, i.e. J Jackson, Sharpton, Ray Nagin. asians are also really bad but most will say its because they have pride in where they come from. i understand that, but i had a chinese friend when i lived in japan, (he was a docter) and he couldnt get a job there so he had to go to australia. hope this helped

If everyone went back to there homelands the only people here would be native Americans. And the if no one ever mixed races anywhere the world would be a boring place, it is all the differences between people that make this a great place to live. Ideas from all over the world coming together and intermingling, to come up with new ideas that otherwise wouldn't come to be.

What's a homeland? There's white people who have lived in America for less time than some natives, blacks, et cetera. The fact is, multiculturalism makes any nation stronger. A few isolated instances of racism are nothing compared to the benefits of having people from all over the world coming together.

America would be much like today except without the racial tension. There would still be rich whites and poor whites, but it would be similar to homogenous countries such as Japan, India, etc.
Crime would go down overall, as statistically hispanics and especially blacks commit crimes in multiples of whites, and perhaps taxes could be cut, as welfare payments would be streamlined more.
Would 'racism' end? No but there wouldn't be as many problems. Japanese people are among the most racist in the world, and they aren't bothered by being called it (there is no leftist drive to hijack their culture or force their views down their throats), and Japan is one of the more successful countries.
Some even call me a racist but it doesn't bother me. White people are never going to stand up for themselves so long as they are afraid of being mislabelled and castigated by a silly little label.

To be honest, technology would not be where it is today without the help of all minds. We would not have a cure for anything because if it weren't for all of our minds working toghether (not skin), it wouldn't be possible because of the one-track minds. But my question is, if we all went back to our respective countries, that would only leave Native Americans here in America....so how would they make money from the casino's? Hahahah...sorry, had to make one joke (I'm not racist at all, I befriend anyone and everyone who will speak to me).
