Doesnt seem to me it means anything now, the only one that matters is the BCS poll. Why do they even show the AP one now?

still can't understand why U.S.C. tried to claim part of the national championship when L.S.U.won the B.C.S just because the A.P. had them rated higher.

I trust the AP/media poll more than the ESPN/coaches poll, because the coaches are focused on their conference and their region, whereas there are some media voters who pay attention to college football on the national level.
The BCS is the best poll because it includes the human and computer polls, but it won't be out for 4-5 weeks.

Get rid of the BCS and go to a playoff system of the top teams and have a real championship game.

Same thing it always meant. NADA! They may get close every now and then, but overall it is total speculation used to get your attention & keep you interested in whether or not your team will beat the poll.
