I do believe that the 89 is very similar to the 83 and 84, both of which you can NOT enter fractions as fractions. You must either change them to decimals or enter them as a disvison problem.

Better yet, do the problems the old fashioned way! By hand!

But if you must, try a TI-30 XIIS or any in the 30 series

To enter fractions just type 3/9 or something it will return .33333, but just push the MATH then Fraction Then press enter. It will then say 1/3!

ok i dont know what kind of calculator that is but just transfer the fractions into decimals
