Mice have a much shorter generation and gestation period than other animals, they are also genetically much closer to the human than any other animal that has an underdeveloped brain(the thing peta cares so much about) Did you know that mice can be used to grow replacement cartilage peices for humans, like ears and noses?

Genetically mice are much closer to humans than cats or dogs. There have been many overlaps in mice reactions and human reactions, this is why mice continue to be used in tons of medical research.
