To explain what I mean: Laurel K Hamilton is known for writing vampire books with a lot of sex scenes. None of this innuendo busines either, they actually do it. However, her books are in the Fantasy section of the bookstore, not the "Erotic reading" section which may have the books from Blue Moon or Nexus, the major porn lit companies.

What other authors produce non "sex-genre" books that still have a lot of sex scenes in them?

Any romance novels it seems anymore are a little story and a whole lot of sex. I worked in a bookstore for years and it was always hard when someone came in and asked for a clean romance to give to some older person, or even a younger reader. there was no way to tell the contents!

Some of Robert Anton Wilson's science fiction novels have a few wild and sometimes humorous sex scenes.

Stephen King uses sex quite often in his stories. He uses it as a driving force for plot generally, but there are times when I have to ask if it was really necessary...

I love his books nonetheless. If nothing else, it certainly spices them up!
