I'm not sure it has anything to do directly with your pregnancy. I use to get the same thing, and it wasn't carpal tunnel, because the wrong fingers were going numb. It had to to with the nerve endings in my hand, and it was because of the way I slept. I'd talk to your doctor and see what they say, I had to wear wrist braces to bed to teach my wrists to "sleep" a better way (if that makes sense). You could be sleeping different now because you are getting bigger and that is what's causing your fingers to go numb. Hope this helps.

First, congratulations on your pregnancy!! Second, this is only the beginning. You body is undergoing so many changes right now. Primarily an increase in blood flow through out your body. You'll start having aches and pains that you have no idea the cause. When you brush your teeth, your gums are going to start bleeding. You may get nose bleeds for no reason. Your back may start hurting, long before you are actually showing. The list goes on. As long as it is not painful, to the point of tears, I'd just wait until your next visit.
The good news is that every single pain you have, every single minute of sleep you loose is 100% worth it. I have three children. Every pregnancy was different. Every pregnancy was wonderful despite the little irratations. Just remember that you are making a whole other person. It's hard work. Good luck...

I went through this and it only gets worse - sorry. I would buy a wrist band, or try one of those braclets that help carpul tunnel. It will allow some relief for the symptoms you are having. Now that I am not pregnant anymore I only get it once in a great while, but it will keep you up at night. Your doctor will be able to give you options that are best for you, but I was advised to get a wrist band.

The sensation pattern you're describing is consistent with findings with a lower neck problem. The nerves that stem from that part of your neck supply sensation to that part of your wrist and hand. Without knowing anything else about your situation, I'd guess you've been in an auto accident, taken a spill of some sort or endured some other kind of trauma to your neck. I've seen plenty of cases where people have weird sensations in part of the arm/hand, muscle weakness and loss of dexterity among other things. These same people have experienced great results with chiro care. Find yourself a quality chiropractor by asking people you know for someone they know and trust. Check out the website below for more information and possible references. I hope this helps--Dr H

My sister had the same problem last spring when pregnant with her 2nd child. It actually got worse and she started to experience numbness in her leg as well. She would also be standing there and her whole arm would just go numb. Turns out the pregnancy was depleting her potassium level and causing pain and numbness in her limbs. SO.... eat a bunch of bananas , take your prenatal vitamins and discuss it with your doctor. Oh , she and my niece were fine. There were no long term effects and nothing bad happened.

I had the same problem when I was pregnant. It was caused by a build up of fluids in my system. Stop using salt and drink lots and lots of water. It should go away after the baby is born, mine did.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! BTW..is it a girl?

you need to roll around more when your sleeping- sounds like you got a kink in your shoulder or arm when you slept--- you see added weight in your uterus-eve by alil bit can cause blood flow restriction to upper parts of your body-especially is you stay in one position- (like swollen feet during pregnancy) can be quite normal- if your concerned talk to your doc.... Could possibly be a clot or a pinched nerve..
And you can tell this is your first-- this is going to one of the very many questions your going to have- talk to your doc..
