I like micro plats like 1/2" or 3/4" which are mainly hidden in the styling of the shoe. This enables the heel to be 5" high but walking is still comfortable as the sole isn't ultra steep.
You get more admiring glances when you do 5" and most people don't realise that they have a small plat and are easier to wear so you get credit for wearing monster high heels with ease!
I've got some black suede peep toe court shoes with a thinnish but not stiletto heel and a small 1/2 inch platform, kind of retro early 50's look? The heel is nearly 5 inches, but the little plat makes them bearable, and they are great worn with fishnets or bear legs and painted toes. Best for an evening out as they are quite dressy but I have worn them at work too with a pant suit or a knee length skirt and jacket. That's the kind of plats I wear, I'm not too keen on the chunky ones.

I wear it only when I want to tower over people. I go for the 3 1/2 inch wedge heel.

they are no longer stable to your ft. this is okay to happen at a dance in them as long as you're taking them off once you get there and do your dancing barefoot. i've got no longer worn any heels on account that i replaced into your age, and as a mom i does not inspire them. I purely have boys although, and that i've got them pass barefoot. i admire quite bare, quite particularly sandals although, and that i think of there are a good number of flat sandals that look as stable (and whilst attractive) on a woman as heels devoid of the prospect of long term foot injury.

I have stripper shoes and the are 8 inches high i love those shoes but i am 5'6 so it makes me really tall

yes. i have a 4 inch wedge heel. i don't know why i insist on wearing them, b/c i'm 5'10". so as you can imagine i TOWER over everyone! lol and I LOVE it

no, I wear stilettos and think they look sexier. anyways, I can't walk in platforms for some reason.
