I emailed an ex after an argument with my wife about her using drugs...Although it was innocent conversation...I apologized for making a rookie mistake...now four years later I caught her e-mailing her ex although it appears quite innocent...is this pay back or grounds for concern?

Why are either one of you talking to your ex'es?? That person should not even be on your list of people who you talk to about your current relationship.

It really depends on how much you trust your wife. If you feel that she might do something if put in a tempting situation, or if she is trying to hide this from you, then it might be grounds for concern. Whatever the case you should talk with your wife about how you feel about her talking to her ex just so she knows how it is affecting you. Then you should talk to her about why it is that she is doing this, maybe there is not enough affection in the relationship anymore or maybe she feels like she needs to talk to someone but cannot talk to you.
