Hello. I am currently being threatened by my bank of having my checking account closed due to an overdraft. When I became aware of this, I opened another account with a different bank before the Chexsystems thing went through. Now, my question is...since I've opened another account...will Chexsystems be able to close that account as well? Will my new account be threatened in any way?
Thanks.

Don't listen to dutch master, he's only the VP of his own imagination. (seems like he has a new job title for every answer lol)

As the first poster said, as long as you opened the account with the other bank before you went into Chex, you will be fine.

No your other account will not be threated since you opened it before this account actually got closed. Just make sure you take all your money out of the old account.

BANKS SHARE INFO AND DURING A CHEX RUN THEY MAY FIND YOUR OLD ACCOUNT IS OWED AND FREEZE IT . WE BANKERS ARE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THIS ALL THE TIME AND WE SOONER OR LATER CATCH UP WITH ALL THE DEADBEATS AND SCAMMERS AND GET OUR MONEY THEY WILL FREEZE YOUR NEW ACCOUNT AS CHEX WILL SHOW A BALANCE AT ANOTHER BANK AND WHEN THEY COME AFTER YOU WITH A JUDGMENT YOUR OTHER ACCOUNT WILL SHOW UP AND THEY WILL PUT A HOLD ON IT . WE DO IT ALL THE TIME .
