One possibility is that the poker site you are trying to play on is having technical issues and this is causing you to be unable to connect to the server. If all your other internet based applications, like your browser, and email and such are still working, then this is the most likely explanation.

Otherwise, check all of your internet hardware - router, modem, network card - for faults. You should also not that having a firewall - even the built in windows firewall - can interfere with web based applications such as poker clients. Disabling your firewall is not ideal, as it serves a useful purpose, so try creating an exception rule that tells your firewall to allow your poker client software to access the internet.

you cannot connect to the server. it is not saying you must be a server.
most likely the server is down.
lol...there's a book out there...internet for dummies...?
