Lately, I've really wanted to just be in a car crash or something, go to the hospital, maybe stay a day, and then go to school and everyone is worried about me. What the |=uck is my problem? I know how stupid it sounds. Is it for the attention? I mean, I'd never hurt myself on purpose, so why would I want this? Thanks.

Hi Kate. You are now in a level where you are starting to imagine things that could happen to you. The next stages might take you to experiment with some of these, so you need to get good professional help to deal with them now. There are probably many things it would be good for you to talk about with a professional person that you can trust. Go get some support. Make a plan. I am sure everything will be better and that these thoughts will leave you. But they won't go away on their own, so go get busy and find some good people to help you talk about them. :)

I think all you need is attention. You can seek attention in other way, not by injuring yourself. Believe me, stay in hospital is not a pleasant experience. I have been in hospital for many times, and it's horrible.

You can try this one: nearly every time, you can get attention by giving attention to other people. I hope you best luck

Just based on what little info you have given, it does sound like you are in need of the attention. It could also be that you want someone to worry about you. You want someone to be faced with the possibilty of your death, and they would then start to appreciate you. Is there someone specific in your life that you wish would pay you more attention or appreciation? It doesn't sound like anything is "wrong" with you. I think you are a perfectly normal teen. If you start to think about actually hurting yourself, then you need to get help immediately. Talk to someone. At this point, based on what you've said, it sounds like you are having the same thoughts and feelings all of us have had at some point in our lives. Good luck...

maybe u r depressed. or maybe u need a day of rest because you keep yourself too busy. or maybe u feel left out and want attention. it does not seem like u want physical pain to extinguish some kind of emotional pain. it does not sound stupid. seek help if u r obsessing about this.

Depression is a good answer, but it is kind of vague, isn't it? Let me see if I can clear it up for you:

You seem to be feeling numb right now. No sympathy, no love, no compassion. When that happens, we try to inflict physical pain because it is something we can immediately see and tend to. It's much more complicated to heal your head than it is to slap a Band-Aid on your arm.

Either way, please go and seek help before you do start self-mutilating, or purposely endangering yourself or others.

Can't speak for everyone but a large group of young people seem to go through the same feelings, hang tough, life can get better, try walking out into the world with a smile on yr face and watch people watch you smiling. good luck

The great thing is that you're asking people what they think about your thoughts -- you're not brooding alone with your natural thoughts. Also I think a great skill we all could develop is to become able to think about anything and examine our feelings about the unthinkable, without having to act on the unthinkable. Very healthy development if we're willing to be responsible about the process. There's never any lasting happiness to be obtained from hurting ourselves or others. Care for yourself and care for others - that works for everyone's benefit.

I think , maybe, you're wanting to be noticed and need attention. You are needing to feel worthy and have a place and purpose. Don't do it this way!!!! Make a change that's positive in others lives, don't ruin your own ! ~ Good Luck!

No, I think you want a vacation from the stress of your daily grind.
A hospital sounds pretty good right about now--lots of pills to numb any pain (physical or mental), nurses to "wait on you hand and foot" (not really but it sounds good, eh?) and doctors to listen to you intently and say "hmmm, I see, I see".
