Because women who are portrayed as beautiful in magazines, television, etc., have enough makeup on to be scraped off with a putty knife, soooo we want to be valued and loved so therefore everyone tries to copy the standard that is set for us. Me? I just love some mascara and a smudge of lip color. Nature girl, lol, but I probably should be ordering some sephora right now to catch up with the others..

Maybe they think the more, the better.
Most women look best with just a little of the right makeup, in the right shades. Makeup should enhance, not mask, and a woman's scent should be discovered, not announced. Too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing.
I heard a guy say once that women wear makeup and perfume because they think they're ugly and they stink. He was making a joke, but may have hit it right on target. American women, white women that is, are bombarded from childhood with images of what's pretty or sexy, and many have low self image. Black women are brought up with a better concept of accepting and liking themselves just the way they are, which is a lot healthier, in my opinion.

Because maybe they don't feel beautiful or confident enough without it. It's sad, but that's the way it is with some women.

make up isnt about covering up...well not entirely...but it's to enhance what you got....some women just dont feel beautiful and they have been told by other people that they are not....so they want to be beautiful, they want to feel sexy, they want to be accepted, and fixing yourself up gives you a sense of being beautiful...feeling pretty...I always say....everything has beauty in it, just not everyone can see it.

I dont put on makeup. I've never liked the idea of putting all that stuff on your face. I think it just makes your face get uglier by time. And it makes your face get wrinkle faster. Sorry if some one thinks I'm wrong but this is my way of thinking.

How do you know they're beautiful? Maybe they're actually just plain and they just look beautiful because of the makeup.

to make them more beautiful and presentable. women are born to wear make up, shop, be glamorous and beautiful.

and when they don't wear make-up guys like to tell them how much uglier they are w/o it.
