Driver---don't be surprised if you lose. You can try, but if you passed your CDL, you know that parking in a bus or passenger zone is verboten.
Your only hope is that there was no bus zone sign, AND there was no painted markings either on the street or the curb.
The hurdle you have to get over is that you are a PROFESSIONAL driver, meaning that this is something you do for a living, and it is not merely a means of getting from point "a" to point "b". The courts take this into account (at least in CA, NY, ME, WY, AZ. and a few other states I can think of.
Good Luck

Mark F:
Ironhand makes a very valid point that you must consider. As a professional driver, many courts hold you to a much higher standard than automobile drivers,( IE: you're supposed to know better)
Consider also how much money you will lose taking time off to sit in court, and also that most municipalities are strapped for funding and they want your money.
Going to court will have to be your decision. If nothing else, you may be able to get the judge to reduce the fine If you do decide to "fight" it, make sure that you take lots of pictures. The judge knows his area, so it is your responsibility to PROVE your case.
Good Luck to you .

Absolutely you can if you are certain no sign was displayed.
I've been in this sitch before and the secret to winning is to just keep writing therm back a letter for every letter they send you, disputing the issue.
It took seven months of this too-ing and fro-ing at the rate of about 1 letter each per month before my council got the idea that I wasn't just going to cough up. In the end, they sent me a letter stating that "after careful consideration, we have decided to waive the fine on this occasion"
GO FOR IT!!
