Once your gallbladder is gone, surgically removed, you will no longer have gallstones or gallbladder attacks. You need a gallbladder in order to form these things.
You need to watch how much fat you eat after that surgery, since the gallbladder releases a chemical that helps your body break down fats that you eat... Normally after you have the surgery the nurses will work with you and give you some information about your diet.
Most people find that they feel tremendously better after having it taken out. Some dont.. You have to weigh your risks.

Cholecystectomy, removal of the gallbladder. Often done thru laprascopic surgery, three small little cuts, one at the top of the stomach, on your right side and above the belly button. Years ago they would practically gut you to do it. You can not get gallstones once your gallbladder is gone. However, when the surgery is done, and the doctor does not clean out the bile duct , you could have problems later if one is lodged in there. Had mine out 10 years ago, no probs since.

When someone has Gall bladder surgery, they have it removed.
Gall stones can no longer form because the gall bladder no longer exists.

Yes. I had surgery to have my gallbladder removed about 3 months ago. What they did is they made 4 tiny incisions (one above the belly button, one right below your breast bone, and two on the right side). They'll put you to sleep, basically bust up your gallbladder, remove it, and no more problems!
