It was just a freak accident. You can't blame sting rays for it. When you 'stick it out there' like Steve did, something is bound to happen. I'm sure he would not want anyone to hate any animal..that was not his way.....He sure will be missed though.......

Don't hate them they can't hate back Hun it was accident. That is the last thing he would want. It is very sad for his family and fans. I feel very bad about it but the animal was only protecting itself because it thought it was in danger. I know he would want you to continue to love animals as much as he did, Take Care Hugs

The crocodile hunter died from a barb of a sting ray. The barb struck him directly in the heart. The barb itself was 8 inches long. Everyone thought at first it was the poison from the barb, but it was the barb piercing his heart directly. Especially one that long. I guess he pulled the barb out himself, but with it hitting him directly in the heart, I guess he didn't have much of a chance. He will be sadly missed all.

it is a wild animal and did what it did as a reflex action of self protection. Steve was just a little careless or not quick enough to avoid its reaction. It s not the animals fault, just a freak accident.it happens! dont get a Disney reaction , they dont sing and dance on the sea bottom, its survival of the fittest and death is an every second possibility, reality as raw as it gets.

SERIOUSLY..
Go check the other posts ...
I am sick of people asking about Steve Irwin..
There are like 15 + questions at LEAST posted about him PER day!! enough is enough....
Why can't anyone just let him rest in peace..!? and you know wha.. it is always LEVEL ONES posting the same question over and over again..

SUGAR1973, He did NOT jump on the stingray.. do your research before you post information that isn't true

AMANDA.P.. was your biology teacher actually there? has he spoken to the coroner doing the autopsy?! NO.. no one knows how long he died of if he died instantly..
His manager, Joe stainton.. Said this and i quote.

" he pulled the barb out.. and he was gone "

I'm sorry he died too. I like his shows. But he shouldn't have been jumping on the stingray. The animal was doing what it normally does. It probably thought it was being attacked. It's we humans who act silly. They are harmless animals otherwise.

It was a sad, freak accident. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. You never know, so live your life to its fullest and be kind and loving.

It wasn't Steve's fault, nor was it the stingray's. His number was up. That's the fragility of life.
