There is a book out called "Boomer Babes" by Linda Stasi & Rosemary Rogers. Its a paperback - Cost $12.95 in Michigan. Its all about baby boomers (female) turning 50. The cover says "A Woman's Guide to the New Middle Ages". If you want to spend more you could always throw in a few lottery tickets. I have the book and its pretty funny. Or else there are always joke books in book stores about being over the hill. Good Luck in your search and have fun at the party. What about a book and 50 jello shots...Obviously when u turn 50 you need a drink!

If she's a sort of friend-of-a-friend kind of person, perhaps one or two of the links between you has some practical suggestions. Or perhaps ask someone to at least find out what her favorite store is, then get her a gift card, what used to be a "gift certificate," but gone to magnetic strip plastic, like the rest of the world. Then perhaps the gang of you could get together on that, with her closest friends chipping in a little more, and the more outer circle type friends a little less, and she still ends up with a nice large gift from her favorite store. Good deal, and easy to do.

BirthDay Card and depending on how well you know them a gift card somewhere for a small amount if you are not willing to spend 50 how about 20 - 25 bath and body works may be a good idea as well or if you know her favorite place to get her hair done then a gift card to her hair salon so she can get it done.

Red Hat Society items ... a red hat, etc. Lots of places carry "Red Hat" items for all us old women over 50. I received a handmade "red hat" pillow, a Maxine 50th mug, an over the hill book. There are also Red Hart scarfs ... just look around. Hallmark stores carry some items I think.

Get a small pretty sack - or a Crown Royal Whiskey bag.
Get 25 or 50 Gold Sacajaweia (Sp) Gold Colored Dollar coins.
A little bag of gold. We have done this for several people and it has been well recieved by both male and female recipients.
Good Luck!

What about a gift certificate for a massage or a mall certificate to her favourite mall? Does she like music ? Does she like theatre or performing arts?
It all depends on her tastes. Most women like to be pampered .So getting some really nice bath oils etc is always appreciated.
Is she a tea or coffee drinker ? what about a basket of her favourite teas/coffees with some good chocolate and nice biscuits or cookies?
Robin McGraw's new book Inside my heart about the joys of being in your fifties?
