It's hard to say...from the replay, it looks like Gaithers (sp)was already in motion when Green was sliding, and actually was being hit by Kennison in the process.
I'm a HUGE Chiefs fan, and was sick to my stomach when and after it happened.
The hit isn't what hurt him, it was the way he fell; when his head snapped off the ground.
Maybe there should have been a penalty and a fine, but it's to hard to say, let's just hope Trent recovers from this.

I'd have to say that first of all the hit on Trent Greene was real brutal. I'm not a Chiefs fan but i know what its like to have the quarterback taken out. (I'm an Eagles fan) Anyways the reality of it is that when Robert Geathers hit him, Geathers was already going and I don't know how many people have lunged at someone, realized that something might happen, and then stop and drop to the ground. I can say that that is not possible when your in midair.
So, to really answer the question here, I don't think that Geathers deserves a fine or anything. It was all just an accident gone really bad, but they've been saying that they only expect Greene out for two games.I mean all the Chiefs fans have to be happy about that. The hit could've been a lot worse than it was and Greene could be out for the season or his career.

Trent Green went sliding before the bengals player went for the tackle. And to to make it worst, he used his forearms to the helmet. So with that said, I say the bengal player should receive a suspension of 3 games.

No way was it a cheap shot. While Geathers was lunging for Green, he also was sort of blocked/pushed toward Green. He turned and hit him with his shoulder, not his head.
Anyone who says it was cheap is delusional. ... Or a Chiefs fan.
I only wish it would've been a Raider or Bronco who would've hit Green. Then you WOULD have seen a riot! Anything to fuel those rivalries.

Of course. Unless you're a Bengals fan.
The refs blew the call. It's an automatic penalty when you hit a QB who's sliding down. I've seen many calls for stuff that was ticky tack, that was a WWE gore if ever I see one. Looked like he was trying to cut his head clean off.
Are the refs getting worse every year?

From the time little boys are taught football, you are taught to get a shot in on the QB every chance you get. Make him tired from haveing to get up so much. But , even I think that was a little late for a hit. He was giving up when he slid. The same thing happened to Jake Delhomme 2 yrs ago and he came back OK.

I dont think was a cheap shot. I have seen worse hits not called cheap shots. A cheap shot that was called thankfully was the hit on Vick last year, that was a late hit.

Interesting,Well of course not,the Bengals would do nothing wrong! All their hits are clean, It's just every other team plays "dirty"Of course I'm being sarcastic because of the so called "cheap shot" Bengals fans thought was done to Palmer last season.

I saw it and it was not a cheap shot. The defender was already on his way to the quarterback when this happened and he did not get him with the helmet. Just an unfortunate play.
