Because any solution that contradicts whatever plan is locked into their closed little minds is immediately discarded.
So, of course they don't see any other solutions being proposed. It has nothing to do with reality. It's called having blinders on.

I've yet to hear a solution that includes the ramifications. I agree we won the war, but to win the peace is going to take a Lo...ong time.
If the Iraqis really wish us too leave soon, they'd stop fighting for about 1 year. The Coalition would consider the war was over & go home. The Iraqis could have their civil war.
I'm not sure the insurgents want a year of peace & stability. The locals might deside they like their new government.

Because liberals have no solutions, they only have theories that they never take the time to prove. Stay the course means we can not give up. For those of you that think that you can have anything overnight, you need to wake up. It takes time to build anything worth having, but it only takes a moment to destroy what has been built. Do you think that Kerry's plan to "respond to an attack with proportionate force (let them kill more of us before we do anything)" is the way we should live? Maybe if the next attack was directed at the liberals they would get the point. No they are to stupid.

The neocons have a plan. We are progressing through the plan. "Stay the course" means to follow the plan we have.
Liberals have no plan, but they simply criticize the plan we have. The point is, if you're going to tell us we're doing it wrong, then come up with something better. You've had six years to come up with a better plan, and you haven't, so you might as well shut up.

Oh, it isn't just "Stay The Course".
It is "Stay the course and finish in Iraq" (which is going quite swimmingly btw)
AND THEN
"Use the stable democratic Iraq as a platform to knock over Iran and Syria".
