1.for question one, you are simply finding a line with the same slope as the given line that passes through (4,-3)
the slope of the line is:
3x+y=2
y=-3x+2
therefore, the slope is /3, so the current equation for the parallel line is y=-3x+b
to find the y intercept, plug in the points given
-3=-3*4+b
b=9
therefore, the line equation is y=-3x+9

2.perpendicular means that the slopes of the intersecting lines are opposite reciprocals (x,-1/x)
so, since the slope of the given line is 1/2, the slope of the perpendicular line is /2, and thus the current line equation is y=-2x+b
plug in the given points and the equation is:
7=-2*6+b
b=-5, and so the line equation is y=-2x-5

Solve the equations for x and y values. Then draw lines that are either parallel or perpendicular to the line created by the equations that pass through the points you're given.

make a table of all the x's and y's that make the 3x+y=2 formula work. (x = 1, y = -1 is one of them)
Draw a graph of those x's and y's to make a line.
Draw a line throug 4,-3 that is parallel to the first line.

1.)
3x + y = 2
y = -3x + 2

(4,-3), m = -3
-3 = -3(4) + b
-3 = -12 + b
9 = b

ANS : y = -3x + 9

------------------------------------------

2.)
(6,7), m = -2
7 = -2(6) + b
7 = -12 + b
b = 19

ANS : y = -2x + 19
