For those of you that think i need medical advice:
My pediatrician is very well known in our community. She is a published author and also teaches at one of the top medical schools. Her theory is that a "chubby baby" is a healthy baby; they have fewer infections and in most cases thin out as they become more active. She also told me, most chubby babies turn out to be thin and the recent research regarding chubby babies and obesity has contradictory and conflicting conclusions.

My daughter started to walk last month at 10 months! She says about ten words and is starting to use a spoon. She gave up her binki at three months and the ped. Stated, my darling daughter is very healthy and her development is advanced for her age. I don't see how any mother would let their child cry because they were hungry. And I know the difference between a tired cry, teething, just fussy and a HUNGRY CRY.My pediatrician also grees that babies know when they are hungry and when they are hungry

My daughter is underweight and under the height for her age but she is chubby. My kids are just small because of genetic. My son on the other hand wasn't as chubby as she is.
My kids are 10 months apart. My son is 18 months old and my daughter is 7 1/2 months old. My son weighs 19 pounds and my daughter weighs 14 pounds. She is a chubby little girl. He was never chubby like her. I think girls tend to be chubbier than boys. I would ask your pediatrician about her weight and height and see what he says. If you have tall people in your family then her being that way would be normal.
Don't get worried unless your pediatrician says, your daughter is weighing to much.

My daughter at 6 months was 29 inches and 19 pounds. She's 9 months now and gets her check up in 3 days. I have to buy a larger top than I do bottoms - she can't wear the "sets" they sell. I was an average sized baby & a fat kid LOL My niece was a fat baby & toddler and now is average sized... her sister was a chubby baby and is underweight (although she eats everything in sight - go figure). As long as you're not feeding her junk food & teaching her bad habits, she'll be fine. Fast food, chips, etc. make kids fat - if she munches on fruits & vegetables when she's old enough, you won't have an overweight child. I was a fat kid cause I loved food.... starches mostly.

My little cousin was a very chubby little girl. As she got older and started walking she started to slim down. In fact she is 5 now and skinny!

My neice was the same way and now she is very slim. Some babies grow faster then others and have more baby fat on them. It's normal. As for the clothes it can be rather annoying! I have a 3 month old son and his pants are always so big that I have to roll them and it looks like coming this fall he will be in bigger tops and smaller pants.

Good luck! And be happy she is healthy!

Talk to your pediatrician and get his/her opinion on your daughters health. While 3T for and 11 month old sounds way beyond chubby , what is important is her overall health status and the pediatrician would be the one to make that call.

I never got a chunky baby... All 3 of mine are skinny minis. But I have the opposite issue. I can't find things with a slim waist that are long enough! I am far from being a skinny mini so where they got it I don't have a clue!

My niece, (whom I help raise) is 5 years old and wears an 8.

She's always been quite chubby...And yes its always been difficult finding clothes to fit. Like she seems to only be able to comfortably wear stretchy pants. If we try and put her jeans she says they hurt her belly and always winds up unbuttoning them heh...

Her doc says her weight is fine though...always has..

On August 13 she started school and I was worried that she might be the "chubby girl" in class and be picked on but...I was surprised to see she was kinda small compared to the other kids...

Recently "they" say chubby babies mean obese children.

Maybe you and your pediatrician can help your baby to slim down a bit.

Some of it will go away as she starts to walk.
