Document all and any occurence. Date time etc. Don't quote heresay only facts. If your company has policies regarding behavior read up on it. Talk with HR and see what is available in the way of courses that are offered to deal with this situation.

A boss that is yelling and screaming at work is out of control and definitely needs to go to anger management classes before someone sues the crap out of the company. Harrassment.

He needs to go back to anger management classes. Sounds like a real loser to me. If he yells and screams all the time he has serious problems and shouldn't be a boss. Good luck to you.

Yes!! I won an unemployment dispute because of this years ago. My boss WAS the owner, and had major temper tantrums. I got yelled at daily for handwriting, answering the phone in 3 rings, whatever triggered the maniac that particular day. I had to quit- very stressful, highly disturbing, still got my unemployment though.

It constitutes a lot more than a “hostile” work environment. If that company doesn’t do something about him soon…. they could be faced with a handful of problems. Just ask Safeway! Believe it or not… that type of behavior can even be construed as “sexual harassment.”

If you can get so proof, either an audio or video tape of the abuse so if you need to take legal action you have something, I'd consult a
lawyer first though some states have laws governing taping

If the big boss has taken positive steps at correcting the problem and thinks it is corrected the answer is NO! If you advise him of the situation, that the problem continues, and he takes no action then the answer is YES and you can take action!

Yes, that's a seriously hostile work environment. If it continues, you might look into legal action. Nobody has to work with an aggressive, out-of-control maniac.

file a grievance, even if it is anonymous... tell them he uses his position to intimidate employees and he needs counseling for how to be a boss....You may want to sit with him on a one to one and tell him that it is unsettling to here him yell... and it creates an unsatisfactory work environment.....also if you decide to talk to your boss include the office as a whole not just you as the lone ranger...

It is only a legally hostile work environment if the screaming references either race, gender, religion, etc.
If he just calls everybody morons and yells profanity, than it's perfectly legal.
