Hahaha, don't waste your time with BAs. It's all a waste of time unless you're planning on becoming a future prof in the subject. Women's studies? Ha, don't make me laugh.

It's painful to see so many kids wasting their parents' money on useless degrees. Get a nursing or engineering degree. That'll do you some good.

Sociology, Anthro, and WMS are all BA degrees. I double majored in Soc and WMS and had a really difficult time finding ANY job. The classes were great and the topics were very interesting to me, but unless you plan on going on for a masters or a doctorate in the topic, take those classes as electives and major in something that will give you something to market yourself with!

If you want to do something in the field of sociology, you'll need a higher degree (MA or PhD too).
My major is in Sociology and I am an ESL teacher and reading tutor.
You can go into urban planning, medical social work, social work, teaching, human resources-- just to name a few . (Your college career center will have a more complete list).
Be prepared to do a ton of writing and oral reports.
This type of degree, in general, pays more in emotional rewards (I love my kids and teaching them!) than in monetary rewards.
Go to your career center and see what looks like something you want to do and pursue, then you will know what degree you will need.

Best of luck!!

Sociology is wonderful and I majored in it in college but don't expect to get a job int he field fresh out of college. Most people confuse it with Social Work anyway. My goal is to teach on the collegiate level so I am working towards a Master but be ready to enter another field when you leave college.

I recommend that after undergrad, you pursue a degree in social work.
