It is a circuit board on the firewall. I had a 97 Suburban, same problem. It is a GM recall item. Call your local dealer with your modal and Vin#, and they will change it for free.

I have a 98 Chevy p/u and it does the same thing. It is the circuit board that controls the wiper next to the motor. Chevrolet did a recall on it a couple of years before i got my truck but for some reason it is still a problem. When ever it acts up and I need to use mine I just open the hood and tap the box next to the wiper motor with a wrench and it works.

Contact your chevy dealer. I had 4 blazers and 2 s-10s and had the same problem with everyone of them. They had a recall on the wiper circut boards from 1995 to 2001. The dealer replaced everyone of them free of charge.

There is a delay circuit board on the back of the wiper motor that needs to be replaced.
I have seen some of the "Rebuilt" ones and I was not impressed with the quality of them.
I would recommend replacing it with a new one from a dealer. That will cost about $50.00 dollars and, it should last the rest of the life of the truck.

It is the wiper pulse module, or some call it the cicuit board, this is a very easy repair and is inexpensive, most good parts house's have this in stock, as well as the dealer, but before i replaced it myself i would check with the dealer to see if this vehicle is covered under the recall, not all model years were.

My chevy truck had the same problem. What you do is remove the wiper engine which is usually attatched to the firewall in your vehicle. You bring it to someone who rebuilds the motors(they usually charge you like 30 bucks) and then you put it back on. It only has a few bolts holding it in place so its easy to take off and put back on:)

i'm sure it is a short or a bad connection. If you are mechanically inclined you might be able to fix it yourself by making sure all the connections to and from the wiper switch are secure. If that doesn't work i would take it to a mechanic that you trust.

Check your wiper gears the stupid things are plastic and they can strip out easily. A dealership or anyother shop can fix them cheap.

well it's probably not the wiper motor, since it works sometimes...probably the switch has a bad contact pain in the butt to fix, best to hot wire and hook up an external switch...

the respond may be a unfastened change. I had an Olds Cutlass appropriate contained in the 70's that did that.. I investigated and located no longer something. Later a chum appeared at it and stumbled on a unfastened floor cable to the engine. added examine revealed a unfastened change sturdy success.
