I think it should be taught as part learning tolerance. However, it should be taught in high school when most kids who are gay are figuring it out, not in middle school because that would be a waste of time.

You need to state a bit more clearly what you want to have taught.

Most of the questions regarding homosexuality are filled with scientific and religious non-sense. How long ago did the world believe homosexuality was a genetic disorder? Now some people claim its a psychological complex. Others that its the "Devils" doing.

The problem is... they don't really even teach heterosexuality in the school.

So what sorts of things are they going to discuss about homosexuals?

How do they have sex? How do you know if you're homosexual?

Or should they produce more slander (like I was taught) about how homosexual men produce AIDs. Or work off the fact that somehow Jesus and God hate homosexuals? Or that some people still thinking that homosexuals are brain washed.

There are many ways to approach the entire subject; the question is whether or not you're actually going to help the student learn anything or confuse them.

Taught as a practice an "alternative lifestyle" or should it be taught as a absolute moral position? That answer determines how focused both your overall paper and ideas will be.

Homosexuality also just as man/man woman/woman or also trangender, fetishes, and other "deviant lifestyles".

I would better refocus the question then perhaps reask later if it was me. I think you'll get a better quality answer and more sound debate argument.

Hope this helps!

This is right up there with really weird questions...I think the real question is whether homosexuality should be mentioned in schools or should we pretend it doesn't exist and sweep it under the rugs? Let's pretend people with moles don't exist. Let's pretend that blondes don't exist...see what I mean. Homosexuality is right up there with heterosexuality - it is what it is. It exists and it's real and it's valid. Dang rights we need to mention it in schools.

I do not believe abnormal sexuality belongs in the school system. It is in the value system a child must learn at home. I could see it as part of the "health" class that is taught at the junior, senior level of high school but it really is something you need to teach your child about when it comes up at home in your life style.

I believe children should learn about educational material in school not sexuality, values, or religion - that is the parents job.

Homosexuality should not be taught in any school because then it has the power of suggestion an can potentially start up problems that no one, esp. homosexuals, are prepared to face.

What do you mean by teaching it? Teaching how to do it, or just that it exists?

Of course not.
Homosexuality should be punishable by death.
Why would you teach such a perversion to children?
